This weekend, Chanii B took part in The Luxury Wedding Show in our home city of Bath. This was the second time we have exhibited at this event, which is held in the beautiful Assembly Rooms, one of Bath’s finest Georgian buildings. With its high ceilings, stunning chandeliers and soft colour scheme, it is the perfect venue for luxury wedding planning!
The show was described as “A unique experience with an abundance of ideas to help you plan your perfect wedding day” and it did not disappoint. The venue was chock full of exhibitors showcasing everything bridal, from amazing wedding dresses, gorgeous jewellery and accessories, to fabulous wedding favours, gifts and cakes. For anyone planning a stylish wedding, this was the place to be.
Chanii B was there to show brides our stunning selection of shoe designs, perfect for weddings – and ideal for parties afterwards! Our range of soft leather shoes in so many beautiful colours and finishes was really well received – a welcome change from the usual satin suspects.
But we were also promoting our bespoke design service, which really caught the imagination of some brides-to-be! They were amazed to discover that they could create something truly unique for their special day. It was great talking to so many brides about their dream shoes!
A few wanted to use our fully bespoke service, which involves creating a brand new design from scratch. This is obviously more time consuming and costly, so for many our “customise” service is perfect – we work with an existing shoe shape, chosen from our full range of styles, but customers can choose from our vast swatch book of leathers to create their own special shoe.
I can't wait to get started on these lovely projects – so nice to share in the excitement of people's weddings!
If you weren't lucky enough to visit the Luxury Wedding Show, we have selected a few of our favourite exhibitors, who might be the inspiration you need if you're planning a wedding.
The Dress
We fell in love with Ritva Westenius – a big name in bridal couture for over 39 years. Ritva focuses on “timeless, elegant styles”, describing her designs as “high quality couture wedding dresses in exquisite fabrics and beautiful cuts.” Her daughter, Chenca, who attended the wedding show in Bath, joined her mother’s brand 12 years ago and has brought her own creative vision and passion to the Ritva Westenius collections. Her designs explore and are inspired by movement and dance, as you would expect with her royal ballet background. Together they offer contemporary yet classic designs that are unbelievably beautiful and hand made in London, using the highest quality Italian and French materials. These talented ladies strive to ensure brides have a show-stopping dress that makes them look a million dollars. We adored every dress we saw!
The Tiara
We LOVE to support little independents – we are one, after all - and we could not resist Waxflower Vintage. Emily handcrafts the most intricate bridal crowns. She sources “vintage wax flowers and lovingly restores and reworks them into modern-day heirlooms.” If this isn’t a dedication of love we don’t know what is!
The Cake
There were some truly beautiful cakes on display at the wedding show, but one company that really stood out for us was Minky Kitten Cakes. Run by a baker and a decorator, the exteriors looked stunning using different decorative techniques like silver leaf and 3D icing flowers, and the insides tasted just as amazing as they looked. Cakes to die for.
The Entertainment
There were some unusual pieces of entertainment and Chloe’s favourite was the “Selfie mirror”, a new spin on the accessories photobooth. The mirror is interactive as well as photographic - write a message on the glass and it will be printed onto your photo. Brilliant for entertaining your guests and getting them to leave a message for you on your big day!
